About Hartley Wintney Preservation Society
The Society exists to help people understand, protect, enhance and promote Hartley Wintney's rich heritage.
Its purpose is to help people living in the village today to keep in touch with the past so as to better provide something worthwhile for the future.
Our Spring Meeting / AGM will take place on Monday 18th May at 8pm (at the WI Hut, Green Lane). See more details on our Noticeboard in the High Street.
Development proposals for Hunts Common and Winchfield
For those not already in the know, Hart District Council are now considering a development in Winchfield of 5000 houses (that's more than double the size of Elvetham Heath which has 1900 homes).
Clearly, this will have a devastating effect on Hartley Wintney, Hook, Fleet and other adjacent locations. However, the process undertaken so far appears flawed and opposition activity is now growing.
If you would like to know more about this potential development and what you can do to help prevent it, please take a quick look at the information posted by David Turver who is heading up a campaign to oppose the new town using the link below.
